River-Cade royalty reflects on their years of service [Video]

The River-Cade Queen and Princesses of the River are getting ready to pass down their crowns to a new generation of royalty.

“It’s like the easiest job ever,” said Natalie Cloud, the reigning Queen of the River. “Maybe like when it’s super super hot out and we’re wearing big dresses, but that’s about it.”

On Saturday, a new Queen and two new Princesses will be crowned after two half days of interviewing, speeches and a parade, giving judges an opportunity to see how well the candidates can adapt and communicate with a variety of audiences.

As the new royalty candidates are preparing to take on the challenge, the reigning women insist they shouldn’t be worried.
