SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco’s Transamerica Pyramid is set to be unveiled to the public Thursday following a billion-dollar renovation. The iconic building was designed by architect William Pereira, who is known for his futuristic designs that also include the flying-saucer-like Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport.

The Transamerica Pyramid was purchased by the SHVO real estate development and investment firm in 2020 for $600 million. Since then, the 853-foot-tall structure has undergone a years-long renovation with SHVO working in partnership with UK architecture firm Foster + Partners.
