GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – Numerous social media posts from community members indicated ‘more gunshot than usual,’ on NYE 2024, with some individuals reporting that they hid in their basements during the night.

“They had damage to their house and some to their cars; there are a lot of panicked people,” said Patty Warner, a resident of Glendale Hills for over four decades. Warner acknowledged she expected some celebratory gunfire but noted that the sounds began earlier than usual and persisted well into the night. “More than the usual gunfire,” she added.
