Residents call for action in govs public safety town hall in Albuquerque [Video]

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham hosted her second public safety town hall on Monday in Albuquerque. People in the crowd echoed a similar theme, that they’re tired of hearing their leaders talk about how to deal with ongoing issues and want action instead. “I’m tired of people getting like, strategies, strategies, strategies. It’s like a football team. You’re out there in the huddle, and you’re all strategizing, but yet, nobody says break, and let’s get out on the field and actually do the work,” said one person at the event.

In the first few minutes of the town hall, protestors called out city and state leaders for not doing enough to stop the violence against Palestinians. Police removed several protestors from the venue after numerous attempts from the panel to calm them down. The rest of the meeting went on without interruption.
