The move was to make room in Los Angeles shelters for dogs displaced by the wildfires. Some will be searching for a new home at an adoption event this Saturday.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Several rescued dogs traveled from Los Angeles to Oregon over the weekend after LA shelters made room for other displaced animals from the deadly wildfires. The Portland community quickly came together to help out as all seven of them are currently being fostered throughout the Rose City.
“He is a fantastic dog,” said Amy VanderVilet of Portland. “He is just a bundle of love.”
VanderVilet, who has fostered in the past, decided to take in one of the pups named Griffith. She said she wanted to help out in any way she could and what better way to do that than give a shelter dog a second chance at life — right here in Oregon.
