KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Any Chiefs fans holding out hope the team’s top receiver might return at some point in the season were given some disappointing news prior to Monday night’s kickoff.
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport posted on social media that the lateral collateral ligament in Rashee Rice’s right knee needs to be repaired.
“There is a chance that’s the only ligament to be repaired. He’s expected to make a full recovery,” Rapoport stated.
Initial fears were that Rice had suffered an ACL injury, but there appears to be optimism that he may not have torn that ligament, per Rapoport.
