Repeat power outages frustrate Arlington community, as Dominion Energy works on fix [Video]

ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — Hundreds of people in a couple of high-rise apartment buildings in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington were without power on Thursday, as temperatures rose into the upper 90s.

A few residents who spoke with DC News Now said the power outages early Thursday morning were not the first.

Dominion Energy confirmed that the buildings had been powerless on four separate occasions since late June, and though people who live in the buildings said while the outages are usually brief, they can be frustrating.

“We’re just waiting for it to come back,” said Phil Feelemeyer. “It’s a little frustrating. It’s been four times recently.”

Feelemeyer said the biggest change was his work-from-home schedule, as he had to go to a friend’s house for reliable internet.

Others discussed the impact of the heat, on both them and their pets.
