Repairs underway as several Arkansas communities go days without water after pipe failure at pump station [Video]

BOONE COUNTY, Ark. (KY3) – Repairs are being made after a mechanical failure caused a pipe to break at a pump station near Lead Hill, Arkansas, late last week.

According to the Ozark Mountain Regional Water Authority, the failure happened Thursday night. It has caused several residents to either conserve or be without water for days.

“The flange between the booster station and the underground piping is what failed. So all of that water under that pressure tried to come out and lifted the building a foot off the ground on that end,” said Andy Anderson with Ozark Mountain Regional Water Authority.

Crews have been working since Thursday to fix the problem. They say that one out of three pumps in the station is running again and slowly moving water.
