BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — State Representative Juandalynn Givan joined CBS 42 Morning News to discuss the mass shooting in Birmingham that left four people dead and 17 people injured.
On Saturday, a shooting took place outside the club Hush in the Five Points South district downtown, which police described as a “targeted” shooting involving several people in a possible “murder-for-hire” plot. Police believe the shooting was done with fully automatic firearms.

In a press conference the morning following the shooting, BPD Chief Scott Thurmond said police believe the shooting happened after a vehicle pulled up near the club and “multiple shooters” got out and proceeded to open fire, subsequently fleeing the area. According to Thurmond, approximately 100 shell casings were recovered from the scene.
