Remembrance ceremonies held in Western Mass. 1 year since Oct. 7 attack [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Several remembrance ceremonies were held on Monday night marking one year since the attacks.

In Northampton, the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts held a ceremony including a moment of silence, prayers, songs and poetry.

Western Mass News caught up with Molly Parr who shared with us the message behind Monday’s services.

“Our message tonight is to support our community we are not a big community in the valley but we all know each other,” expressed Parr. “There are people in this room whose families were murdered, raped, and kidnapped and we are here to support them.”

Over in Springfield, another event hosted by the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts.

Bobby Naimark, an impact officer with Temple Beth El shared with us the mixed emptions of this date falling during the high holidays.
