CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Relief from the blistering temperatures has finally arrived, but daily chances for thunderstorms remain in the forecast.

• Temp Trend: Cooler 80s for the foreseeable future
• Rain Trend: Daily downpours likely into next week
• Humidity: Stays tropical, will fuel showers and storms

As promised, the wholesale pattern change we’ve advertised for many days in advance has finally arrived, meaning temperatures are headed down, while rain chance will stay high.

A stalled front will serve as a trigger for numerous showers and thunderstorms right through the weekend and into next week. While high temperatures will be cooler, the humidity level will remain tropical!
