WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – President Joe Biden’s Sunday night pardon of his son, Hunter, is getting a strong reaction from lawmakers of both parties as well as President-elect Donald Trump.
Reaction was swift from House Speaker Mike Johnson who wrote on social media, “Trust in our justice system has been almost irreparably damaged by the Bidens and their use and abuse of it.”
In contrast, former Democratic Attorney General Eric Holder called the pardon “warranted,” noting that most federal prosecutors would not have pursued the gun case against Hunter Biden.
President-elect Donald Trump also took to social media to write: “Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” adding to the post, “Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!”
