HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A re-zoning debate may be further from resolution than expected.
A section along 9th Avenue in Huntington near Hal Greer Boulevard has sat empty for decades.
Sam St. Clair is the president of Huntington Realty Corporation, which acquired three lots there two years ago.
They opened a restaurant next to the space a few weeks ago in a building that used to be a pizza place.
“It all comes down to what we want to do with this community and how we want to grow, St. Clair said.
On Monday night, Huntington City Council tabled the second reading of an ordinance that would re-zone the area from family residential to a status that would permit small businesses to go in. Council members voted to table the measure indefinitely.
