RDA Clean and Safe Ambassador Team does Annual Riverfront clean up | News [Video]

ROCHESTER, Minn.- The Rochester Downtown Alliance’s Clean and Safe Ambassador Team did its annual Zumbro River cleanup on Thursday, Sept. 12. 

The team went up and down the Zumbro River’s path near downtown Rochester cleaning up discarded plastic bags, golf balls, electric scooters and more between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. 

Cam Hurd, operations manager for the clean and safe team, said that the team’s yearly efforts helped to keep the riverfront safe and enjoyable for everyone.

“Apart from the obvious of cleaning up and making the environment better, it also makes it a bit more calming, a bit more welcoming experience for anyone whose visiting downtown,” Hurd said. 

Katie Adelman, a volunteer that has been helping the group since it began the project in 2020, said it was a good way to get involved in keeping the area clean.
