Rasmus Hojlund has apologised after catching the ire of Manchester United fans on social media following their Europa League draw with Porto on Thursday.
Making his first start of the season, Hojlund put his injury troubles behind him to score in the first half and give the Red Devils a 2-0 lead.
However, Erik ten Hag’s side capitulated shortly after and ultimately needed Harry Maguire’s late header to rescue a 3-3 draw in the Estadio do Dragao.
Still keen to celebrate his goal, Hojlund posted a picture on Instagram shortly after full-time with the caption: ‘Luckily I had 6 weeks to practice my celebration. A win would’ve made it perfect.’
However, his upbeat post did not go down well with some United fans who took aim at the striker for celebrating his goal after another disappointing defeat in Europe which piled further pressure on Ten Hag.
