ATLANTA — Mayor Andre Dickens joined community leaders for the unveiling of a new rapid rehousing property in our city. The property will assist those experiencing homelessness.
The property on Bonaventure Avenue will contain 23 housing units, all of which will be used for the “chronically unsheltered.” It will also provide case management support and mental health services for those staying there.
In January, the city celebrated the opening of ‘The Melody,’ which turned roughly two dozen shipping containers used as hospital rooms during the pandemic into 40 studio-style apartments, all equipped with private bathrooms, beds and kitchenettes.
Those earning less than 30% of the median income will be able to stay at the property, according to Mayor Dickens, who added that its studio units come fully furnished with refrigerators, cooktops, and even washer and dryers.
