RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Rapid City is looking for your input on what projects the Community Enrichment Division should invest in next.
Specifically for money received as part of the Community Development Block Grant, a federal grant issued through HUD aimed at helping communities meet needs they see felt in their area.
A public forum was held Tuesday to let anyone share their ideas about how the money should be spent for next year.
Most of the people at the meeting focused on similar issues, with attendees agreeing that affordable housing is needed in the area, but also community services to help support them. Many of the guests raised concerns that affordable housing projects are not always located conveniently for someone with one car in the family or no access to a vehicle at all.
