QUINCY, Mass. — A Quincy High School cheerleading coach has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly giving drugs and alcohol to students.
In a letter sent to the community on Friday Superintendent Kevin Mulvey said that a cheer coaching member is under investigation by the school district for allegations of violations of state and federal law.
“It is alleged that on at least one occasion, the employee provided alcohol and marijuana to Quincy High School students,” Mulvey said in the letter.
The letter continued to say that the coach shared inappropriate images online, and shared private private information that breached student confidentiality.
Students and families that have been directly impacted have been informed.
“While these very serious allegations are being investigated, the employee has been placed on administrative leave. This investigation remains active, and not all of the details are currently known to the school department,” Mulvey said.
Additional information from the Superintendent was not available.
