Quebec police investigating the homicide of a man in his 20s in Sherbrooke [Video]

Quebec provincial police (SQ) are investigating the murder of a man in his twenties whose body was discovered on Saturday evening by a citizen in Sherbrooke, in the Eastern Townships.

The police force confirmed on Sunday morning that it was a homicide and that the investigation was continuing in collaboration with the Sherbrooke Police Service.

Sherbrooke police officers were called around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday to a building at 4300 Bourque Boulevard to help an unconscious man, said public relations officer Benoît Pellerin in a press release.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, SQ spokeswoman Élizabeth Marquis-Guy confirmed later that evening.

The case has been turned over to the SQ’s Crimes Against the Person Division.
