When Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, he emphasized India’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict.

The presidents greeted each other warmly before the discussion, which focused on India’s “special and privileged strategic partnership” with Russia.

In addition to welcoming the growth of BRICS, Modi visited Russia for the second time this year, after receiving Russia’s highest civilian honor in July.
