PulsePoint app returning, but only for the city of Toledo [Video]

The app stopped being funded in August, but Toledo Firefighters Local 92 felt it was a worthwhile investment to bring back.

TOLEDO, Ohio —

Toledo community members will soon have access to an alert app that lost funding last year.

PulsePoint will be up and running within the next few weeks after Toledo Firefighters Local 92 decided to fund it.

The app started being used by the county in 2014 and was funded by Lucas County Emergency Management Services. In August of last year, with a new contract, Lucas County EMS stopped funding it.

Now, Local 92 has stepped up to provide the money but the app will only cover Toledo.

“PulsePoint originally started as a mobile app that allowed the community to respond in cases of cardiac arrest, person down, an unconscious person,” Dan Evans, the secretary-treasurer for Local 92 said.
