Public safety, city cleanup among priorities in Colorado Springs Mayor Mobolades proposed budget [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – More police officers and continued funding for homeless outreach programs were among some of the items on Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade’s proposed city budget, presented to City Council Monday.

Mobolade’s office said public safety, city cleanup, and addressing issues around homelessness were the mayor’s top priorities.

“Today we present a balanced 2025 city budget to Council that prioritizes the needs and values of the community, including hiring additional police officers and providing additional staff for cleaning up homeless encampments,” Mobolade said in a statement to media released immediately after the presentation. “Across all departments and functions, we have an obligation to our residents and visitors to continue to provide excellent services.
