Protestors flock to downtown Chicago for Trumps appearance at NABJ conference [Video]

CHICAGO — Protestors flocked to downtown Chicago Wednesday as former President Donald Trump was in town to speak at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.

Chicagoans from across the heavily Democratic city made it clear Trump was not welcome.

“In this beautiful city, Donald Trump is not wanted,” said protestor Steven Dornbusch.

Protests began late Wednesday morning outside the Hilton Hotel, where Trump would later take questions in an awkward and, at times, contentious, sit-down interview with a panel of Black journalists.

During his 2016 campaign, Trump canceled a rally in Chicago over safety concerns after protesters packed the arena.

“Every time he tries to come here, we are going to protest and reject him,” said Hatem Abudayyeh, national chair of the United States Palestinian Community Network.
