Private sector engagement for civic and media space opportunities and challenges for new partnerships [Video]

On June 18, 2024, Pact, CSM-STAND and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) hosted a discussion on trends related to engaging the private sector for civic and media space. The conversation explored topics such as the threat of democratic backsliding on economic markets, areas of shared interest between private sector and civic actors, and opportunities and challenges for building cross-sector partnerships. The event also included the launch of a new strategy from CSM-STAND titled, “Private Sector Engagement for Civic and Media Space: A Strategy for Civil Society and Independent Media to Collaborate with the Private Sector,” which lays out how development partners, civil society organizations and independent media can take practical steps to develop partnerships with the private sector on civic issues.
