Press Conference | Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, Moms Missing in Oklahoma, Bodies Found

OSBI UPDATE: On April 14, the OSBI, FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), Texas County Sheriff’s Department, and the Office of the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner recovered two deceased persons in rural Texas County.
Both individuals will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine identification, as well as cause and manner of death. This is still an ongoing investigation. PRESS CONFERENCE at 10 AM.

Case Background: 27 year old Veronica Butler and her friend, 39 year old Jilian Kelly were last seen on March 30th, 2024, making their way to Oklahoma to pick up Veronica’s two children, age 6 and 8, from her in-laws to take them to a birthday party; her daughter turned six that day. Veronica was going through a bitter divorce and custody battle with her ex, Wrangler Cole Rickman, and Jilian was accompanying her for a custody exchange of the children. The two women traveling from Hugoton, Kansas, to a rural part of Oklahoma to meet the children’s grandmother at Four Corners. Wrangler Coleman, Veronica’s ex, was in prison for possession of a firearm and had been released 14 days prior. Also, just 10 days before they went missing, Veronica had filed a petition in court for more visitation with her children and was seeking full custody.

Their abandoned vehicle was discovered near Highway 95 and Road L, just south of Elkhart, Kansas, a rural community near the Oklahoma border by Texas County deputies and detectives said that they suspected there was foul play involved in their disappearance. An “endangered missing advisory” was issued by Texas County authorities on March 30th.

On April 13th, 2024, four arrests were made: The OSBI identified the suspects as 43-year-old Tad Bert Cullum, 54-year-old Tifany Machel Adams, 50-year-old Cole Earl Twombly, and 44-year-old Cora Twombly. All four individuals were booked into the Texas County Jail and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. The women’s bodies are yet to be found.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the OSBI at [email protected] or 1-800-522-8017.
