Prescribed burn near Platina continues through Dec. 16 | News [Video]

REDDING, Calif. – CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit is conducting a Vegetation Management Project through Monday, December 16, 2024. The Williams Ranch Vegetation Management Project aims to reduce approximately 400 acres of timber and brush located near the community of Platina.

CAL FIRE emphasizes its commitment to safety and optimal control during prescribed burns. The agency carefully monitors climate conditions to limit escape potential and minimize poor air quality.

Residents and visitors should expect to see emergency personnel, equipment, and air resources actively engaged in operations during the day and into the evening on the listed project dates. Smoke may be visible near the community of Platina and may be present during the day and overnight.
