Prayer vigil asks for community to support Louisville’s youth amid gun violence | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A prayer vigil was held on Saturday to call for an end to violence around Louisville.

For about an hour on Saturday, people gathered with the intention of remembering those lost to gun violence while also thinking of solutions on how to stop it. Some people said it starts with taking care of and supporting the city’s youth.

“I don’t care what kind of name, title you carry, it’s all about are you showing up to these kind of events or just showing up to show your face and say, ‘I care?'” said Christen Dublin.

More than 30 people gathered in the Chickasaw neighborhood to support efforts to end Louisville’s gun violence.

Dublin joined retired Louisville Metro Police officer Ray Barker, also known as Sir Friendly C, for the peace prayer vigil at Flaget Field Park.
