Poway teacher Wendy West named classroom hero by SDCCU [Video]

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego County Credit Union is honoring a Poway teacher for inspiring young students. In this Zevely Zone, CBS 8 partners with SDCCU at Country Montessori School to celebrate a Classroom Hero. Ms. Wendy West has dedicated 30 years of her life to shaping young minds at Country Montessori School. She teaches children ages two-and-a-half through kindergarten in the ‘Bumblebee Classroom’.

We visited her class and discovered a bee hive of activity. “I found Montessori thirty years ago and it changed my life,” said Ms. West. She always wanted to be a teacher and her dream came true. “I feel like I am a kid at heart, so I love being around children and I get to laugh every day,” said Ms. West.
