Portsmouth police investigate 4 unrelated shootings in the city [Video]

According to the department, the four shooting incidents occurred within three hours of each other Sunday morning, two of which were fatal.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Portsmouth Police Department is investigating four shooting incidents that occurred within hours of each other early Sunday.

According to a city press release, police have determined the shootings are unrelated.

First, police responded to a call about a shooting in the 600 block of Lancer Drive at around 12:26 a.m., the press release stated. When officers arrived they found 53-year-old Michael Thomas Marshall shot multiple times. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene after he succumbed to his injuries.

A little over an hour later, at approximately 1:35 a.m., officers got another call, this time in the 2300 block of Elliott Avenue. When police got to the scene, they found a man, who was later identified as 33-year-old Michael Livermon, with a gunshot wound. …
