Portland wakes to some light morning clouds Tuesday, skies clear to sunny by afternoon [Video]

The Portland/Vancouver area should see some cooling temps Tuesday only reaching the lower 80s. Monday’s high was 88 degrees.

The National Weather Service says Portland could start the day with morning clouds, but any cloud cover should quickly clear to a sunny day.

Onshore flow and an upper level trough will help the valley locations stay cooler Tuesday. Portland should see a high of about 82 degrees, which is average during early August.

Average temps won’t stick around long. Wednesday and Thursday will be warmer days with highs flirting with triple digits on Thursday.

High pressure rebuilds into the region beginning Wednesday. Portland will have a sunny day with high temps reaching about 89 degrees.
