Portland outreach organization expands to downtown area [Video]

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center (POIC) opened its new community safety office on Southwest Oak Street in Downtown Portland on Tuesday.

Through its new office and partnerships with major Portland companies, POIC is working to make the downtown area safer and more vibrant for communities and businesses.

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” said Joe McFerrin, President and CEO of POIC.

Thanks to its partnerships with companies like OHSU, TriMet, and the Portland Metro Chamber, POIC was able to expand to Portland’s downtown area. Its new community safety office will have a team of trained staff with lived experiences, ready to help people in need in the downtown area.
