PORTLAND, Ore. — A nonprofit organization in Hazelwood is making strides to support one of Portland’s most diverse communities. The Rosewood Initiative, located in East Portland, has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) shuttle bus to help residents access essential services and events.
“When you think of East Portland, you think of a melting pot — this is the true melting pot,” said The Rosewood Initiative’s Interim Executive Director Paula Byrd at the bustling community center.
The center offers a wide array of resources, including a food pantry, social services, employment assistance and language classes. The addition of the EV shuttle expands its outreach by providing reliable transportation to residents.
