Portland icon Darcelles at risk of closing [Video]

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – After serving 57 years as an iconic spot for the queer community in Portland, Darcelle XV Showplace is in danger of closing.

In a post to Facebook on Thursday, the club explained it needs help to stay open.

“To ensure our doors remain open we NEED your help!” The post read, “Please come support our club, attend our shows, plan your celebrations with us and help spread the word far and wide that our club is nearing the unfortunate moment so many other small business have recently.”

Darcelle’s has been a famous drag venue serving the community for decades.

To support the venue, people can attend a show on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays.
