Port Clinton swears in new fire chief during ceremony [Video]

Brian Gutman has served as city’s interim fire chief for the last 20 months after the city’s former fire chief was fired.

PORT CLINTON, Ohio — Port Clinton swore in its newest fire chief Tuesday morning: Brian Gutman, who had served as the department’s interim chief for the past 20 months. 

Gutman was sworn in at Port Clinton City Hall, the city said in a press release. Gutman has been with the Port Clinton Fire and Rescue Department since 2019, when he was hired as an EMS Captain.  Prior to his work in Port Clinton, Gutman served with the Bowling Green Fire Department. 

In the press release announcing his promotion, Gutman stated his commitment to the community and department.
