PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A restaurant to honor a beloved chef who died in a paddleboarding accident last month is now open in southeast Portland.

L’Échelle has opened a pop-up style business on Southeast Division.

This was the last restaurant project of chef Naomi Pomeroy.

Oregon State Police have identified the wrong-way driver who was killed Monday as 34-year old Brookelynn Fetters.

In a statement on social media, those close to Pomeroy said she would have wanted them to press on with the dreams and visions they came up with together.

The plan is to have L’Échelle be a casual, no-reservations bistro for now, before it transitions to a full restaurant experience next year.

It will be open Thursdays through Saturdays.
