Politicians come and go, chiefs are here to stay [Video]

During an interview on GHOne TV’s Hard Talk show with Lily Mohammed, he emphasised the unique position of chiefs in driving long-term progress in their communities.

“A president can be in power for a maximum of eight years. An MP may serve longer, but do you think someone whose forefathers have toiled and shed blood to maintain their town or village, and who genuinely wants to see that town or village develop, has less ambition to develop it than a politician who is there for just four years?” he asked.

Nana Obodade III highlighted the enduring responsibility chiefs have to their people, contrasting it with the relatively short tenures of politicians.

He also underscored the need to recognise traditional leaders as key drivers of development.
