Police officer adopts dog after rescuing it from hot car near Las Vegas Strip [Video]

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas Metro officer was responding to a medical call when he was flagged down after a group of tourists spot a dog inside a hot car.

According to LVMPD in June Officer Kevin Borja rescued the pup that was sitting inside of the vehicle in an open cardboard box for an undetermined amount of time while temperatures wer over 110 degrees.

Officer Borja has named the dog Theodore.

LVMPD shared their story on social media showcasing the pups happy in his new home on Thanksgiving.

Borja says after saving theodore he knew it was meant to be.
