Police investigate after Waffle House shooting in Springfield Township [Video]

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – Springfield Township police are investigating after a shooting at Waffle House early Saturday morning.

According to a press release from the Springfield Twp. Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunshots at the Waffle House located at 3031 South Arlington Road around 2:30 a.m.

Investigations found that two vehicles traveling north on Arlington Rd. fired multiple rounds of gunshots toward a group of people gathered outside the restaurant. Then, some people in that group fired gunshots back at the moving vehicles, according to the release.

According to police, the vehicles involved were last seen heading north on Arlington Rd.

“Based on the evidence collected thus far, we believe this was an isolated incident and assure the public that there is no ongoing threat to safety in the Arlington Road area,” the release said.
