Police force ‘quits’ Elon Musk’s X over the ‘quantity and quality’ of responses it receives as it becomes latest organisation to leave billionaire’s site [Video]

A major UK police force has announced it is joining an exodus from Elon Musk‘s X, formerly Twitter – after being bombarded with abuse from internet trolls.

Derbyshire Police has decided to step back from using the social media platform to communicate with people, other than in ‘major incident’ circumstances.

The force is the latest in a series of high-profile organisations to make a move away from X, whose owner Musk has been stirring controversy with his prolific posts while also lifting restrictions on previously-banned posters.

Many individuals have also been announcing their departures from X and encouraging others to try alternative sites such as Bluesky or Threads instead.
