FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The NAACP chapter in Fort Wayne is fed up with the number of police shootings that have happened in Fort Wayne over the year so far.
Chapter president Rev. Saharra Bledsoe held a press conference on Thursday with the mother of Linzel Parhm, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Fort Wayne earlier this year.
“Please, I’m asking you to not let another senseless murder, killing, whatever you want to call it, to happen at the hands of the police department,” Bledsoe. “I want everyone to understand, I have nothing against the Fort Wayne Police Department. Normally we work together … but please, please stop using so much excessive force in our community!”
