People celebrate Global Black Pride in Atlanta [Video]

ATLANTA — Hundreds of people looking to celebrate Global Black Pride have been showing up all weekend long in Atlanta. 

People met at Piedmont Park on Sunday to continue the weekend-long event.

One organizer, Pressure King Friday, said it is exciting to see the turnout because Black Pride started out on a much smaller scale.

“Black Pride, we started out with a radio, and now we have sponsors, tents, the crowds, stages. It’s like, whoo!” Pressure King Friday said. 

This is the first time in history that Global Black Pride is being held in the United States.

Queen Hatcher Johnson said that Atlanta was the perfect place to host the event.
