Penn. fugitive arrested in Springfield after firing gun, crashing scooter, police say [Video]

Springfield police arrested a fugitive wanted in Pennsylvania after he fired a handgun while riding a scooter down a city street Saturday morning, according to police.

Springfield resident Christian Ayala-Pellot, 28, is facing 11 charges including fugitive from justice, leaving the scene of property damage, malicious destruction of property, giving police a false name, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and disorderly conduct, Springfield police said in a Monday press release.

On Saturday around 11 a.m., Springfield police officers heard gunfire coming from the intersection of Allen and Alberta Streets, police said. Witnesses told police that a suspect — who was later identified as Ayala-Pellot — had fired a gun while riding a scooter.
