Pender County man arrested for murder after shooting that killed one, injured two [Video]

MAPLE HILL, N.C. (WECT) – The Pender County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) has arrested a man for murder in the Maple Hill area.

According to a press release from PCSO, deputies responded to a 911 call on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Maple Hill School Road and found three people who had been shot.

Two of the victims were taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center and another to Novant Health Pender Medical Center. One of them died due to their injuries.

Jesse Conroy Watkins, 67, of Maple Hill, has been charged with murder, two counts of assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Watkins had his first appearance today in Pender County.
