Pea Ridge School Resource Officer returns to school district after being retired [Video]

PEA RIDGE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — With a smiling face and warm welcome Pea Ridge School Resource Officer Mindy Fowler is making sure students stay safe at the Pea Ridge Intermediate School.

She helps kids get out of their family’s cars and helps them cross the street.

“We want to make sure that all laws are being enforced and that we have a safe campus,” Fowler said.

Fowler has been an SRO for six years and the thing she says is her favorite part about is building a relationship with the kids.

“I’m able to get really close with them when I get to see them every day. And the high fives, the smiles, the hugs I don’t feel like there’s any better way to be rewarded for what I’m doing,” Fowler said.
