Payroll delays for 21% of workers [Video]

More than a fifth of workers have been by payroll delays several times in the past year, new research reveals, writes Ayaat Yassin-Kassab.

A survey of 1,000 workers by payroll solutions provider SD Worx Ireland shows dissatisfaction among workers regarding salary efficiency.

Those surveyed said that they want increased pay transparency, with 27% having noticed mistakes in their salary calculations in the last year, while one in 10 reported that questions about their playslip are not clearly explained or remain unanswered altogether.

SD Worx country lead Eimear Byrne said: “Employees need support to be able to understand the explanation of payroll calculations.

“The issue of payroll transparency often stems from administrative inefficiencies and poor communication rather than intentional efforts to keep employees in the dark.

“There can be many non-integrated systems or technologies managing the payroll information, increasing risk of errors.
