BERLIN, Conn. (WTNH) — After two weeks of battling the forest blaze, fire officials announced Sunday that they were moving into a patrol phase.
Authorities report 127 acres on Lamentation Mountain have burned since the fire started. As of Sunday, 50% of the area was secured with fire lines. Water operations will remain in place throughout the week.
Little to no rainfall is expected over the next week and authorities still have concerns about the red flag conditions. Tuesday and Wednesday are both expected to be red flag days.
