Patriots coach answers questions on Christian Barmores status [Video]

FOXBOROUGH — Jerod Mayo opened his Monday press conference thanking the Patriots’ medical team for their work on Christian Barmore and followed that by providing what little update he could on the status of the defensive lineman, who was diagnosed with blood clots on Sunday.

“I just want to thank the medical professionals in-house and also Mass General for the care for Barmmore,” the Patriots coach said. “Obviously, it’s an unfortunate thing. For me, it’s not even about football when you talk about things like that. It’s about the man. He’s getting tremendous care. I’m anticipating him coming back.”

Mayo wasn’t ready to speculate when Barmore might return.

“No timetable whatsoever. All these situations are different and I’m not a specialist in that world. I don’t want to put a diagnosis or a timetable on that,” Mayo said. “When he’s ready to go we’ll be here waiting for him.”
