Members will be able to access their accounts once recovery is finished and everything is fully functional.
After the attack, the credit union had to shut down some day-to-day systems like online banking and their mobile app. It impacted services like transfers, direct deposit and payments.
Officials say this was done to remediate and contain the issue.
Over the weekend, Patelco continued restoration efforts and are still trying to move toward full functionality. It’s still unclear when things will return to normal.
“I know I’ve stated this to you before, but the restoration of our systems while ensuring their future security requires careful and methodical work. I know this may not be moving as quickly as you’d like, but please know we are working as quickly as we can and we know how critically important this is to our members,” said Patelco CEO Erin Mendez in a website update.
