PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – With homecoming just days away, it’s important that people are informed about the flow of traffic going on in the city of Parkersburg.
Matthew Board, the chief of police for the City of Parkersburg, said that the road delays will begin in Parkersburg and across parts of Wood County starting at around 7:30.
“I would suggest taking a little bit of extra time in the morning, maybe leaving or planning for those delays,” Board said. “There will be an officer or volunteer stopping you at an intersection to ensure the safety of all participants in the community at large during the events,”
The events in question for Saturday are the half-marathon and the homecoming parade. The parade starting at 12:30 will have all of Market St. closed until the parade is over to ensure the safety of the people on the parade.
