Tuesday’s Paris Olympics coverage with women’s gymnastics, rugby and swimming nearly doubled the first Tuesday at the Tokyo Olympics.
PARIS, France — The Paris Olympics are underway and millions are watching through the first five days of the Summer Games.
NBCUniversal said its coverage of Paris Olympics competition on Tuesday had 34.7 million viewers on NBC, Peacock and across key NBCU platforms, according to official data from Nielsen and Adobe Analytics.
That viewership was nearly double the first Tuesday of competition for the Tokyo Olympics which had 18.4 million across all platforms in 2021.
Tuesday’s competition was highlighted by Simone Biles and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team winning the gold medal in the team competition. Three swimming silver medals and one bronze were awarded to Americans, and the U.S. women’s rugby team had a dramatic bronze-medal victory.
